Mondays 4-5 PM- Hip Hop & Salsa for kids age 6-9 yrs Hip Hop and Salsa with Gregory; to inspire a love of dancing! Warm ups, rhythms, isolations, and character drawn from hip hop dancing. Hip Hop has evolved from African dance and Urban street dance to become its own unique style of modern dance. The kids will learn Salsa to give them a preparation for all partner forms. Come with or without a partner. All people learn both the lead and follow parts. Wear socks or slippery soled shoes. Mondays Begins Sept 11. Hip Hop will be the base of warming up the body, learning isolations, and character. Salsa and Tango will be the partner dance focus. We encourage people to take two classes a week, Mondays with Gregory, and Thursdays at 6:30 with Daniel. Come with or without a partner. All people learn both the lead and follow parts. We teach in the style of the Jazz Hoofers the great iconic dancers of the 1940s and 50s. In particular we owe our style to the late great Leon Collins, one of the greatest of the Bebop dancers. We teach the Cuban style, and Rueda, which is a circle game passing partners, a great way to dance with everyone. Come with or without a partner. All people learn both the lead and follow parts.
